Collaborative AI Scenarios In The Future Of Marketing
Nothing stirs our AI paranoia more than the idea of independent AI systems communicating with each other in unmoderated, incomprehensible ways.
This fear lept from science fiction trope (vividly described, for instance, in the 1966 sci-fi thriller Colossus) toward reality in 2017 when Facebook researchers reported that experimental chatbots being trained to negotiate had begun to converse in their own weird, invented language. When the researchers disabled the unintelligible communication, a wave of sensational reporting suggested that fear of unforeseen consequences had prompted them to pull the plug.

Put People, Not Tech, At The Heart Of Your MarTech Program
Marketing Technology (i.e., MarTech) spending is up, but let's face it: Digital experiences that marketing technology can deliver often underperform.
MarTech investment in the U.S. grew by more than 14% in 2022 (after more than 20% growth in 2021), but that's not yet translating into standout experiences. Forrester predicts 'an erosion of CX differentiation in three-fourths of industries' in 2023, with most teams 'stuck on basic find-and-fix work, unable to help their organizations innovate.' So, as a CMO (or CTO), how do you solve this challenge and maximize the promise of your MarTech stack investment?

The Progression Of Predictive Marketing (And Why It Matters)
Research shows 4 out of 5 marketing executives struggle to make data-driven decisions, even though 95% of companies use integrated predictive analytics.
In short, marketers have more information than they know what to do with. So, instead of generating predictions, the data is collected but left unused.

If you aren't familiar with predictive marketing, at its core, it's using historical and current data to forecast future results. The idea is to establish a model that continues to refine itself as you add new data, allowing marketers to personalize and optimize their buyer's journey.

The thing is, predictive marketing isn't new. It's been around for years, yet it's still misunderstood. To add to the confusion, it's evolving rapidly.

Losing Big Deals? Fix These 5 Sales Process Fails
Too often, I see sales teams thinking of their 'sales process' as a set of stages in their pipeline and maybe a bunch of fields to complete at each stage.
And I see those same teams wrongly claiming, in deal reviews, that these are the things that killed their deals:

  • Product functionality gaps
  • Price gap
  • Company capability gap
  • Bad news from left field

Wrong.
