New Data On Employer Brand, Marketing Talent And The Great Reshuffle
The pandemic caused millions of us to re-evaluate what we want in our careers - globally, employees are rethinking how they work, when they work, and WHY they work.
In the past year, as millions of people left their jobs in search of opportunities that provide both a greater sense of purpose and more flexibility, talent attraction and retention has become more critical.

The Great Reshuffle has put increased pressure on organizations to think about the nature of the workplace, their organizational relationship with the workforce, and how to position themselves to attract top talent.

Gartner Marketing Survey Reveals 60% Of CMOs Have Centralized Some Or All Of Their Function In The Pursuit Of Operational Efficiency
Analysts Caution That Centralization Should Not Be Seen As An Organizational Panacea
Sixty percent of marketing organizations have centralized some or all of their functions, according to a survey by Gartner, Inc. Chief marketing officers (CMOs) cited operational excellence issues - such as prioritization, workflows and collaboration - as the primary reasons for making changes to their organizational structures.

Gartner surveyed more than 380 marketing and communications leaders in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany and the U.K. from November through December 2021, to explore both the marketing and communications team's function design, and its relation to other functions in the organization and to external partners. The findings show that the pace of centralization has quickened in comparison to previous years, with CMOs significantly shifting their organizations in the last year to centralized structures, with 37% fully centralized and 23% mostly centralized.

Top Content Of The Week: Keys To Catchy Content
When great content is created and nobody consumes it, does it make a sound?
You already know the answer to this rhetorical question. Even the greatest piece of work provides little value to the organization producing it if the output isn't being engaged with. It's a marketer's nightmare scenario.

We all strive to create something that makes an immediate and enduring impact. But your content can't be evergreen if it was never seen.

Yet, in today's saturated digital environment, that can happen all too easily. Getting the right person's attention is half the battle, which is why distribution and promotion have emerged as utmost priorities.

Investing in these areas is helpful, of course, but so is thinking about them creatively. Don't limit yourself to what's worked in the past.

To help get your awesome content noticed so that it can make noise, here's a rundown of the latest top trending content for marketers.

The 4 P's Of Customer Engagement
For a customer interaction to embody the 4 P's, it must be personal, predictive, proactive, and pervasive.
'The 4 P's of Customer Engagement' is a concept I coined a couple years ago that summarizes what companies need to prioritize to create experiences that matter. For a customer interaction to embody the 4 P's, it must be personal, predictive, proactive, and pervasive. Here's what I mean by this:

Tools To Help You Work Smarter, Not Harder
Over the last year of working remotely, I've had to make some major work and lifestyle changes which have helped me succeed and has lead me to where I am now.
But one motto I will always stand by that my first manager job told me is 'Work Smarter, Not Harder'. I know, it's cliche, but keeping true to this has helped me be less stressed, work more efficiently, and prioritize my goals at work. I know I'm not the only one who has multiple reoccurring tasks that take time away from larger items. That's why I'm going to share with you a couple of tools and how I use them to save me time and be more efficient.

To-Do List

The first thing I do every Monday morning when I start work is review my deliverables for the week. This includes reoccurring tasks and client-specific items. For me, this is as simple as writing down each task I have, followed by due dates. This way,I can prioritize and tackle the most important items first. Once I have all my tasks laid out, I transfer them into Microsoft To-Do and attach the due dates. This way I receive daily notifications if I have something due and it shows up on my Outlook flagged items.
