The landscape of marketing technology (MarTech) and all of the tools included is nearly infinite. Imagine trying to see the far reaches of our galaxy with the naked eye. That's what it can feel like if you're trying to find the right tools to help you lean into your digital marketing strategy

"But it doesn't have to overwhelm you. Many of the tools in MarTech are great. But they aren't all needed at every level.
Depending on where you are in your growth journey, you may need fewer tools or different solutions to your pain points.
When you're getting ready to lean more into your digital marketing strategy, you can look through this list of tools for what speaks to you and helps you get to where you need to go..."

3 Trends For Mapping Your Marketing Strategy To The 'Next Normal'
The marketing world as we know has been turned on its head, thanks to COVID

"We are still a long way from overcoming the global pandemic, and there is still vast uncertainty over what our new future will look like when the dust settles.
One thing is certain, though: the needs, behaviours, and expectations of our customers have changed post-Covid, and will not be returning to the pre-pandemic norm.
We should consider this new phase our next normal, and as marketers we need to adapt. By testing new ideas, investing in transformational campaigns, and making dramatic changes, we can adjust to a post-pandemic marketing landscape. It will be crucial to create an agile marketing culture in order to tackle the next normal, and all of the 'next normals' that will undoubtedly follow..."

5 Types Of Email Newsletters Your Readers Actually Will Want To Read
Email marketing can be highly profitable when it's done right. Each $1 spent on email marketing can generate $38 in profits. But you have to keep your newsletters interesting if you want your subscribers to keep opening your emails and turning a profit

"So how can you write email newsletters that your readers will actually look forward to opening?
1. Educational Over Promotional
Of course you want to promote your brand in your newsletter. But what's the key to doing this successfully? You want to find the right balance of promotional content and educational information. HubSpot details how the recreational sports outfitter REI does this perfectly. How do they do it?
Their membership email newsletter does link to specific products on their website. But they only do so when it's relevant to the information they are sharing. When the weather started to turn cold, they published a newsletter devoted entirely to runners- and shared a link to several items that can help runners stay warm: A hat and gloves, a warm jacket, and waterproof running shoes..."

Avoid These B2B Tech Marketing Mistakes
Every B2B tech marketing effort starts with good intentions. But not every B2B tech marketing effort works out well. If you're struggling to market effectively, here are three things that may be going wrong

"1. You haven't refined your market or developed your message effectively.
I've grouped these two things (market and message) together because they're closely intertwined; without an understanding of your market, you can't really shape your message effectively. Good marketing starts with a well-defined market and a crystal-clear message. If you're not starting with these things, you're probably doing bad marketing..."

'We Need To Discount.....'
It was a morning of deal reviews. The sales person was reviewing the deals expected to close by the end of the quarter

"Deal after deal, there were differing issues that had to be addressed for each deal. We developed action plans to address them. But I started noticing a problem, 100% of the deals required a 'discount.'
'What's the problem, why do we need to discount in each of these deals?' I asked. 'Do we have a pricing problem? Or is it something else?'
The sales person immediately responded, 'Yes we have a pricing problem, we need to substantively reduce our prices on everything, I can't compete without lower prices..'
But then we started to look at some of the data, we analyzed all the deals that had been won and lost in the past 2 years. Fewer than 10% of the deals won required a discount (outside of normal volume discounts or quarter end incentive programs)..."

12 Key Questions You Should Ask Customers During A Sale
During the sales process, it is usually the potential customer who tends to ask all the questions pertaining to the service or product they're purchasing and your business in general

"But, in order to better understand its target audience, there are also key questions the business should be asking its customers who are serious about making a purchase. Here are some of them.
During a sale, the customer shouldn't be the only one asking questions. What's one question you should ask a customer serious about buying and/or using your product or service, and why?..."

The 5 Best Sales Prospecting Email Templates That Get Responses
Sending out a prospecting email is a simple and useful way of connecting with someone who would benefit from what you have to offer

"Unfortunately, it's all too easy for sales pros to get caught up in the numbers game and send off lots of boring emails that fall flat.
While it's important to be able to connect with enough prospects, using the right level of detail and customization in your emails is essential. A genuine connection sparks rapport and boosts your response rate through the stratosphere so you can start building trust..."

Tips For Successful Virtual Sales And Consulting Meetings
Channel partners should learn to make the most of virtual sales and consulting meetings. Scott Ford of Pronesis Technology Group offers advice on tactics that work

"If you had asked me earlier this year if I would recommend virtual selling and consulting, I would have quickly said, "Only as a last resort." I would have then quickly rattled off all the pros of meeting in person: human contact builds relationships, you get a better read on body language, you can make a more comprehensive impression on the meeting attendees, and the list goes on.
Enter COVID-19. This virus is forcing everyone to do things they never thought they would: send employees home to work remotely, rely more heavily on delivery services, wear masks and, yes, even consider a virtual sales presentation..."

Writing Business Proposals That Close Sales
Writing a compelling business proposal is critical for the success of any professional venture. An excellent plan can help you close more deals and grow your revenue impeccably

"However, proposal writing can be a challenging affair. If you get it wrong, you're more likely to lose most deals no matter how good your offers are. On the contrary, if you get the facts right, winning lucrative deals will be your norm.
Since a business proposal marks the difference between winning or losing a sale, acquiring new clients, and creating long-lasting relationships with your potential customers, it's crucial to know what counts. This article presents some tips and tricks to help you write a killer sales proposal..."
