"For that reason, a well-executed abandonment email strategy is essential for any ecommerce business.

Email remarketing is the process of contacting a lost lead and reintroducing them to the conversion funnel. While there are numerous ways to accomplish this, emails have remained one of the most effective methods for recovering sales.

But how exactly should an abandonment email strategy be organized? In this article we'll examine best practices for abandonment emails, and the ways they can drastically improve your conversion rates..."

"Time is our greatest asset in both business and life. How we spend our time can make or break business and marketing success.

Why Your ABM Might Be Falling Short Of Expectations
An approach to marketing that promises to deliver the benefits of inbound with added account relevance is tough to ignore.
"'I see ABM as a response to inbound marketing. Inbound is great, but you don't have control over quantity and quality. You also can't afford to wait until those named account targets happen to find your content and download something.' - Matt Heinz, President of Heinz Marketing

An approach to marketing that promises to deliver the benefits of inbound with added account relevance is tough to ignore. And while there's plenty of evidence that account-based marketing (ABM) works, it's not like you can just flip a switch and automatically find success.

If you've started down the path of ABM but are struggling to generate results, don't worry. You're not alone..."

Courting Your Customers: A Relationship-Building Approach To Marketing And Sales
Imagine this: You've been going to the gym regularly for a few weeks and you've noticed the same good-looking person there almost every time. You're single, and this person is piquing your interest
"You work up the nerve to finally make small-talk with them about one of your mutual exercise habits. They respond with enthusiasm which, at first, really excites you. They're returning your interest!

Within the first five minutes of getting to know each other, however, they ask, ''Ok, so, now that I know your name and what you do for a living, how do you feel about having three kids and living over in that cute new suburb on the west side of town?...."

High Performance Selling - Putting The Pieces Together
Have you ever put together a jigsaw puzzle? Recently, I was sitting in a hotel lobby. The staff had put out one of those 1000 piece puzzles. It turned out to be a fascinating social experience
"Puzzles are interesting, and they are an intriguing metaphor for sales. The pieces of the puzzle don't make any sense by themselves. A single piece of the puzzle is meaningless, we don't understand the picture, we don't even know where/how it fits.

But taken together, all the pieces of the puzzle create very complex images..."

How To Empower Your Sales Team With Thought Leadership
Content, and specifically thought leadership, is now recognised as the perfect means to help drive the business development (BD) process
"Sharing content with prospects helps sales and BD representatives show empathy with their pain points. It also helps steer that prospect towards accepting your solution as their solution.

The prospects love it, too, as it helps them stay informed on industry developments, trends, and new technology and processes - in turn, helping them do a better job.

Which is why content marketing leaders work with their sales teams to plan and create content that will convert..."

Understanding The Different Types Of Customer Engagement
The customer-centered economy has made it easier for customers to switch to a competitor if one company is not fully satisfying them
"This has raised customer expectations; now, companies need to provide personalized services to stand out. If you don't meet these expectations, customers can easily go elsewhere.

To thrive in this environment, you must engage customers proactively and regularly. Let's explore why customer engagement is critical for your customer success team and the types of engagements you should be leveraging..."

How To Align Marketing And Sales With CRM For Lead Generation And Business Growth
Did you know that aligning your marketing and sales teams can help to dramatically improve your brand's performance resulting in rapid business growth?
"Even though marketing and sales reps mostly do not agree on this, nevertheless when these two teams work towards a unified goal for generating more leads, businesses typically see a 30 percent and even higher volume of sales wins.

Alignments between branches in an organization can happen in several forms but ultimately your marketing and sales departments should have a common goal around lead management, nurturing and generation of new leads, and there is no better way to do this than by implementing a CRM software be it Salesforce or any other Salesforce Alternative CRM platforms mostly used by startups and small businesses..."

On CRM: The One Big Problem With These 11 Open-Sourced CRM Applications
A shout-out to Ankush Das, a tech blogger who put together a really nice list of 11 "open-source" CRM applications for the Linux-focused website It's FOSS
"Das recommended products like SuiteCRM, Vtiger, EspoCRM, YetiForce and others - both well-known and more obscure - and they all represent a good variety of choices for companies that have a developer mindset.

Open source products like the ones included in Das' list mostly come with the ability to be hosted internally or by a hosting provider, offer free and paid versions based on either the number of servers or users and include documentation and support provided by the application's developer communities..."

Informal IT Networking Every Wednesday, Locations Vary

Join us for vBeersPlus at General Provision Downtown Ft. Lauderdale.

vBeers events happen four times a month on the first four Wednesdays. Check the meetup.com page for the locations.

vBeersPlus events adds sponsorships - recruitment, community, commercial

These informal networking/social events provide a relaxed environment to meet with other hands-on IT professionals and promote the growth of IT in South Florida.

I would like to invite local firms who are seeking new IT employees to sponsor a table which they will staff before or as part of the vBeersPlus.

These tables will be set up before the vBeersPlus. Job fair attendees and the hiring firms' representatives are encouraged to stay for the networking and talks.

In advance of the vBeersPlus, I will post a list of the positions that are available from the table sponsors.

I am now looking for sponsors to deliver short commercial talks during vBeersPlus. The idea is to describe an IT problem such that people will relate to it then briefly describe the sponsor's solution. Attendees will be able to visit the sponsor's table, after the presentations, to discuss the presented solution.

As I ramp up the sponsorships, the food and drinks will be covered by the sponsors.

If you are interested in sponsoring a table at the Job Fair and/or presenting a commercial solution, please email sales@itnewsandevents.com or call/text Lauren McLaughlin for details at (954) 729 9130.

Your Best Sales Manager Is Not Your Best Salesperson!
The most common question I think I get hands down is "Greta, where do I find a good sales manager, or who on our team do you think would be a good manager?"
"Most of the time, they take their best salesperson and promote him or they take somebody who has been in the field or sold before and hires them. What happens? Well, I'll tell you more often than not, it's unsuccessful. Why? To illustrate this point, I'm going to tell you a story about Evan.

I work with a very prominent, high-end web design company, one of the largest in the country. They have a wonderful reputation and their salespeople are skilled, though they needed to learn some process..."

Developing & Mentoring Your Junior Sales Force
"The best players do not always make the best coaches or mentors," said a Commercial Real Estate HR leader Stephen* on the phone recently
"I am leaving the company because they just handed me a phone book, a quota and want me to sink or swim. There has been almost no training, they get irritated when I ask questions and don't even let me attend the meetings I set up, said Rachel who is in the Insurance business.

'Our senior brokers, the ones who are making 700k, a million+ a year. They don't mentor..."
